Welcome To My Obsession
Hey! It's just me Andy Sizemore, you can find me on my board or most any of the artifact related boards as Andy or Panda. Just for those that don't know Panda is for Paula and Andy, my wife's name is Paula and we've used Panda on the internet for years now.
Artifacts became an obsession of mine around 1990, all I wanted was a frame full. Yea right! I've picked up arrowheads as far back as I can remember but never started collecting them till 1990. I was born and raised in Corpus Christi Texas and as a kid I can remember picking them up in the area and giving them to a friend of mines Mother in exchange for soda waters. I still hunt the site today my friends Mother use to take us to as kids. I also use to pick them up on the families ranches and can remember leaving them in the Jeep in a cup after playing games like who can find the best or seeing how far one would skip across the pond. Back then they had no value that I knew of, and I only have memories of the types I found.
In Rock Springs Texas back around 1974 my family had a ranch there and that was the first time I ever dug for arrowheads. I was determined to find a perfect one and I dug till I did, it was a little Perdiz. I kept the Perdiz along with the other pieces I found digging in a cigar box for years. I still have it today!
In 1990 I was working on the family ranch and was finding a few arrowheads and decided I wanted a frame full after looking at another mans collection from the area. I thought I'd just buy one and on my attempts to find a frame to buy I was shocked at the prices of arrowheads. I made a few shows and started seeing what others have found and bought and started putting together a frame for myself. At that time I thought some of the people paying a $1000 or more for an arrowhead were crazy .. Ha! I put together a few pooter frames and it wasn't long after that that I became one of the crazies that would pay $1000 for an arrowhead. I've even sold some of my pooters to upgrade to higher quality points. I've never parted with any of my personal finds after 1990. I learned my lesson over parting with the points I'd found as a kid.
Why This Website?
I've said and talked for years about building a website to show "some" of my collection and like most fought the picture battle for years. I've always enjoyed taking pictures and have found taking pictures of artifacts and being able to show the flaking to be tricky. I've tried every method and camera I could and just now managed to get a camera to give me the results I wanted for my artifact site.
Nothing On This Site Is For Sale
What's To Be Found Here?
